Speaker: Pastor Dan Pearson
Most of us are familiar with the Japanese Kamikaze
pilots from WWII. They were committed to their
cause, their country and their families...even unto
death. In honor of my dedication to Jesus Christ, am I
willing to follow Him--unto death? --to be a Kamikaze
Christian? After all He's done for me and in response
to His great love for me, I should be. Imagine what the
Church would be like if we did - WOW!
"Choose this day whom you will serve...but as for me
and my house, we will serve the Lord."
This sermon is in two parts so be sure to listen to both
parts. To enhance the message there is also a youtube
video you might like to watch between parts 1 and 2
titled "Why I Hate Religion but Love Jesus".

Pastor Dan is starting a new series this week about
Communication. How does God communicate with us?
This week we look at how He communicates with us
through His Word, the Holy Bible.
According to 2 Timothy 3:16 God gave us His Word
to teach us, also to correct us and train us in the ways
of righteousness. When you get a new computer or
other techie device it takes a while to learn it. The
same is true with the Scriptures - sometimes it takes a
while to learn how to use them and walk in them. But
don't worry, like a Father God will be there to help us,
and to walk with us, even to pick us up if we fall .

Last week Pastor Dan talked about how God
communicates with us through His Word, the Bible.
This week he follows up with a message on the
unspoken - our non-verbal communication.
The moment we meet someone we form an opinion
about that person, right or wrong, based upon
something we see such as clothing or countenance.
When people know we are Christians, we are labeled
as "different" and we will be scrutinized--as they look
for us to do something that Christians "don't do." We
need to live as though we had the truth--because we
do have The Truth.
Are we remembering that often the way we live is the
only Bible or sermon some people will ever hear or
see? When they look closely at us do they see our
flaws, or do they see Jesus Christ? Good question!

Did you watch the Superbowl on Sunday? Some
people watch it just to see the commercials.
Companies pay a lot of money for a 30 second ad
during the Superbowl so you know they're going to be
sure their ad will effectively communicate their
message.
We've all had those moments when we've said the
wrong thing, or maybe said the right thing at the wrong
time. Maybe we should take a lesson from the
Superbowl ad folks and work on how we speak and
what we say so that we can effectively and construc-
tively speak our message...and it won't even cost us
millions of dollars!
